International Media Academy Online delivered via an e-learning platform daily over three weeks with 10 girls from disadvantaged backgrounds in Kosovo, Greece, Germany, South Africa and the U.S. The training included daily sessions and guest speakers to support participants to make videos about issues that affect them. The Global Girl Media feminist media curriculum looked at:

• Gender discrimination and violence against women and girls across the globe

• Citizen journalism

• Media representations of women in the media

• Interview techniques for video and blogging.

• Post-production.

The groups chose to research, develop and produce on films about period poverty, racism, and life living in refugee settings in Greece and Germany.
