Re-stART
filmmaking programme and Training of Trainers in Hong Kong
british council
Films For All worked in collaboration with international artists and filmmakers to design the Re-stART project:
Re-stART focused on marginalised young people not in education, employment, or training: refugees and asylum seekers, young people from non-Chinese speaking ethnic minorities, and Hong Kong youth from socially deprived backgrounds.
We trained ten youth/social workers and ten young Assistant Trainers remotely to deliver a curriculum on filmmaking and social action for children aged 10-18.
The Training of Trainers and Facilitator Guide looked at child protection, supporting youth participation and youth-led video production, safeguarding risks and challenges in storytelling.
The curriculum comprised of 10 x two hour workshops about cinematography, film and documentary production.
